City of Atwater ConcreteCity of Atwater Concrete

A concrete contractor in Atwater, CA since 2013

Before you trust us with your driveway, patio or slab, I'd like you to know who we are and how we work, so here it is in plain words.

Fresh concrete driveway with smooth broom-finished panels and joint lines beside residential garages.

How I came to concrete work in Atwater

I spent my first working years at a desk. Then I took a job on a concrete crew and found I'd rather build things people can stand on. I learned the trade from the finishers I worked under, and in 2013 I started City of Atwater Concrete here in Atwater.

We're best known for flatwork, which covers the driveways, patios and walks that lie on the ground, and we want yours to sit level and shed water away from the house. Most of our calls come from homeowners, with some from small businesses and builders. We hold the state contractor's license California requires once a job needs a building permit or comes to $1,000 or more in labor and materials, and we're insured.

The part of a slab I care about most is the part you'll never see. I'd rather spend extra time digging out and packing the subgrade, the ground the concrete sits on, than rush to pour, because a slab on dirt that was only raked level settles with that dirt, and you can't fix it later. When a budget is tight, the base is often the first thing people want to trim, and I'll explain why I'd recommend saving somewhere else.

What you can expect when we pour your concrete

You deal with the owner

I come out to look at your job and measure it, and I'm on site for the pours and the final walkthrough, so the person who priced your job is the one checking the work.

Pours planned around the weather

We plan each pour around the weather and the time of day, because concrete placed in midday heat can end up with a weak, dusty top. New concrete deserves a fair start.

Permits sorted out up front

If your job needs a permit, we'll tell you which city or county office handles it and agree with you whose name it's in. In Atwater, building permits come from the city's Building Division.

How a concrete job with us goes

  1. You call or send the form

Please call (209) 280-3262 or send the form on our contact page with a few words about your project. We'll reply within one business day to set a time for me to come out.

  2. I measure and write it up

I'll look at the job, measure it and talk it through with you, then write up a free estimate in plain words so you can see what's included. There's no obligation.

  3. Our crew builds it

If the permit is in our name, we file it and book the inspections. Then our crew digs out and packs the base, pours and finishes the concrete, and cleans up before we walk it with you.
